When I was a kid, I used to love to finger knit. I would do it while I was watching TV, and I probably created hundreds of feet of finger knit yarn. Now what I had trouble with was finding creative uses for all of my finger knitting. I used to make little scarves for my stuffed animals. And then there was that time I used it like rope and created this whole system where I could close the door to my bedroom while sitting in my bed. I guess I haven’t changed all that much, because I’m still trying to come up with fun uses for finger knitting, like this finger knit gift wrap.
If you don’t know how to finger knit, it doesn’t take long to learn. Here’s a tutorial I shared a couple of years ago when I first started blogging.
The key to creating this really beautiful finger knit look is combining two different styles of yarn into one “ribbon”. You just hold them together and finger knit them as one. There are so many fun combinations you could create, and then you could use these finger knit ribbons for any occasion. I love how this little package looks with the shades of green yarn and these chalkboard gift tags.
